Video Good Enough Ethics in XR Shared Spaces

New video in our SHARESPACE Talks playlist!

This talk, presented by Kathleen Richardson and Kathleen Bryson (De Montfort University, UK), introduces Good Enough Ethics (GEE) in XR Shared Spaces — a practical framework inspired by Winnicott’s “good enough” concept of responsible sufficiency and the Ethics by Design paradigm. Rather than striving for ethical perfection, GEE empowers teams to make workable, emotionally intelligent choices during co-design and deployment.

The approach centers on six testable GEE values — Attachment, Trust, Autonomy, Privacy, Justice, and Responsibility — and explores how a brief “GEE mini-teach” can measurably shift ethical reasoning toward concrete safeguards and duties.

The presentation also shares insights from three-wave live scenario testing (T1–T3) and connects to our broader research, including the upcoming book Good Enough Ethics by Design: AI and Alternative Digital Realities (Palgrave Macmillan).
