The old city of Nicosia played host to the latest SHARESPACE research consortium meeting, held at the Cyens Center of Excellence on the 25th and 26th of November. Representatives from all project partners gathered to review the progress of ongoing work packages and chart the course for the next phase of SHARESPACE.
The meeting was an exchange of ideas, focused on the project’s transition from its intensive VR research phase to an ambitious exploration of augmented reality (AR). The shift to AR represents a significant milestone in the SHARESPACE project, that aims to build on the findings of VR research conducted thus far. Consortium members reviewed the findings and brainstormed ideas on how to deal with potential obstacles and challenges.
The meeting also included demos showing the latest development of the research of human-avatar collaborations. These developments are used to further the research doing within the project’s proof-of-principles and it is actively discussed how to use them within each of the three real-world scenarios.
Stay tuned to the SHARESPACE website for updates on the Open Call for Artists and exciting developments in the months ahead.
